1988 chevy k1500 4wd pickup and it is leaking oil at the oil filter adaptor filter is mounted at a 90 degree ?

angle what do i do1988 chevy k1500 4wd pickup and it is leaking oil at the oil filter adaptor filter is mounted at a 90 degree ?
it sounds like you either have a defective seal on the filter, (it happens) or the old seal may have been left on when the new one was installed. If you are doing the work yourself...drain your oil, (if you just did a change) in to a clean %26amp; dry container. Remove the filter, carefully %26amp; check for extra gasket/seal. inspect oil filter seal for cracks or damage. Clean the surface at the engine block make sure it is free of debris, etc. %26amp; try again. You may want to just buy a new filter %26amp; replace it, cuz there is a lot of work here, it might save you time. The angle of the filter doesn't matter, it is designed that way. Hope I have been of help to you. Good luck1988 chevy k1500 4wd pickup and it is leaking oil at the oil filter adaptor filter is mounted at a 90 degree ?
Is it leaking between 1) the filter and adapter, 2) the adapter and the block, or 3) the oil cooler lines?

If it's 1, then change the filter, make sure gasket surface is clean. If it's 2, then you have to take off the adapter and change the o-rings behind it. And if it's 3, then you can try tightening the lines or you might have to replace them.
take apart and look at seal....if on the filter part maybe the old filter gasket stuck on...if on the block part replace rubber ring/seal...hard to get to...iv worked on a chevy v8.
