So I bought a car with a K%26amp;N filter in it (non cold air). It's a flat element, more like a rippled screen if anything. It's not foam. I'm thinking about washing it out and was wondering if I need to oil this filter. I know you can use motor oil on the foam filters and just wring it out. What about this one. Should I NOT oil it, or should I buy a can of filter oil?Do I need to oil this type of air filter?
K%26amp;N has recharge kits that are specifically designed for use with their filters. It has a cleaning solution and oil.
So, yes you need to oil the filter, but I would recommend only using the k%26amp;n kitDo I need to oil this type of air filter?
use only the k%26amp;n filter cleaning solution with the oil supplied in the recharge kit.
After you wash it you should oil it K%26amp;N sells a cleaning kit and it has instructions and oil and cleaner.
