I still can't take the oil filter off,its not budging at all...HELP?

I've tried two different wrenches. I tried sticking a screwdriver through it and turning...it didn't move. Im turning it right way. Now its torn and about half crushed at the middle and bottom. What can I do now? Its on a second gen eclipse...there's not much room to work with. Can anyone help me?I still can't take the oil filter off,its not budging at all...HELP?
is there something that looks like a nut on the top? some filters has them. i use to tear them up and take a wrench or socket and take it off.I still can't take the oil filter off,its not budging at all...HELP?
hammer and chisel at the rim shoving it in the right direction to loosen the stuck seal...or a big pair of channel locks at the base if you have room. if the base is still good you can try a strap wrench and rag.

for the next time..never use a screw driver on a stuck filter.

strap wrenches have to be used up near the base of a filter and some times need a rag in between the filter and wrench. socket type filters work well if you have the room to put a ratchet on them but if its badly stuck can twist the filter. so if you use one on your next oil change make sure its a quality one.
were you using oil filter wrenches? there are 2 kinds of oil filter wrenches the adjustable kind that fits around the filter and then there are a socket kind that is made for that exact filter size try and get a socket one and that should free your filter
O-gosh!!!!

I have been there more Than I can say...

Even if you have the right wrenchs it still happens...

This happens when oil changes are not happening on a regular basis.

or the qick-stop oil change shops tork the hell out of it.

This what I do.

I get a long flat head screwdriver and hammer.

I hit the base of the oil filter and try to turn the base counter clock wise.

Some times you will need to take off what is left of the oil filter to do this.

Take your time.
