Low down, side of the engine. It's a metal canister, looks a bit like a squat jamjar.I have a vauxhall astra 2.0l spotive van, does anyone know where the oil filter is located??
Hi i have an Astra 1700 diesel .First you will need to drive the offside front wheel up a ramp so you can get under the car. If you face the front of your car. Now measure roughly a third of the width of the bonnet going from the left hand side ,now remember that imaginary line and lay on your back and slide the top half of your body under your car and measure roughly 2 feet from the front to the back look up and there you will find a cylinder fixed at a 30% Angle out towards the offside normally white in colour attached to the side of the engine, it resembles a jam jar in size and is screwed onto the side of the engine clockwise .If you want to remove it unscrew it anti-clockwise ,with your hand ,or you may need a piece of rag to grip it better or even bang an old screwdriver completely through it so it will unscrew.PLEASE NOTE %26gt; Before you start any of this. Make sure you have a new oil filter to replace the old one .and also something to catch the oil that will come out when you start unscrewing it. I hope this helps .mac
on the side of the engine block mayb at the back near the oil sump should be a black or white filtre
I think its hidden at the back of the engine next to the starter motor. Best to find it from under the car.
