i have a 2 stroke yamaha blaster...im cleaning the filter but i have no filter oil....i do though have normal oil for other things...just no filter oil...is there anything i could use to sub out for the filter oil such as regular 2 stroke oil? thxDo i need to use 2 stroke foam filter oil for my quad?
It needs to be very thin/light oil.
3 in 1 oil works well. Sewing oil, WD-40 can work in a pinch.Do i need to use 2 stroke foam filter oil for my quad?
I have 2 Yamaha Blasters - I wouldn't use anything other than filter oil. Here's why - Motor oil works well, but it won't work very long. Motor oil drains off leaving spots of the filter dry where dirt will go through. WD40 is too thin, don't use it on a foam filter. With a light oil there isn't enough moisture so the dirt will eventually go through.
